AUBURN, ALA. - Auburn senior Jay Moseley was named to the 2008 SEC Community Service Team on Thursday. The team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Moseley was recently awarded the Brad Smith SEC Community Service award and accompanying $2,000 scholarship. He was voted as Team Co-Captain for the past three seasons by his teammates and built an active record of volunteer work in and around the Auburn community with such organizations as Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, College Golf Fellowship and numerous Food Drives. He was a member of the SEC Good Works Team for 2005, 2006 and 2007 and has not only been the Golf Team representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, but also served as treasurer in 2004 and chairman in 2005. In 2005, Moseley was nominated for National SAAC Representative for SEC and is currently on the FCA Leadership Team.

With a 3.23 GPA in Business Administration, Moseley has participated in every tournament for the team this season, and he has a 71.22 stroke average for 27 rounds for 9 tournaments. Fifteen of Jay's 27 rounds have been under par for this season. Moseley's stroke average has improved with every season of competition thus far. The No. 16 Auburn golf team will be making its 46th appearance in the SEC Golf Tournament at the par-72, 7,217-yard Frederica Golf Club in Saint Simon's Island, Ga., April 18-20.
