Auburn Men's Golf To Open Reunion Intercollegiate Monday

    April 3, 2009

AUBURN - The Auburn men's golf team will compete in the Reunion Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday at the par 72, 7,416-yard Reunion Golf and Country Club in Madison, Miss. It will play the opening 36 rounds of the 54-hole tournament on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday.

Senior Glenn Northcutt will play in the No. 1 position followed by junior Cole Moreland at No. 2. Freshman Kyle Kopsick will remain at No. 3, freshman John Stembridge at No. 4 and senior Keith White will occupy the No. 5 spot.

"Our top three are still the heart of our squad," said head coach Mike Griffin. "It is good to have Keith White back in the lineup. I know he has been working on his game while our freshmen have been trying to grow up. I expect that Keith and John Stembridge are going to have a good week in Mississippi to go along with our other three. It is time to see what we have learned this year."

The 15-team field includes No. 19 Arkansas, UAB, Auburn, Jackson State, LSU, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Mississippi State, UNCG, North Florida, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Mississippi and Vanderbilt.

Live scoring will not be available for this tournament.
