The No. 23 Auburn golf team is back in action Sunday, March 23 through Tuesday, March 25 at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate Golf Tournament in Awendaw, S. C.
"The Hootie at Bulls Bay is a fun event on an exciting golf course," Auburn head coach Nick Clinard said. "The tournament is first-class and we look forward to competing against a great field. We won the event in 2012, so we have some good feelings going into the tournament. I'm excited about the guys' attitude, work ethic and commitment to be the best." Competing for Auburn will be Daniel Stringfellow, Will Long, Niclas Carlsson, Matt Gilcrhest and Jake Mondy. Carlsson won the 2012 Hootie at Bulls Bay individual title in a playoff.
Carlsson leads Auburn with five top-20 finishes, including two top-five, and has a 71.63 stroke average on the year, best on the team. Mondy also has a pair of top-five finishes and has a 71.88 stroke average.
Stringfellow finished fourth in the Tiger Invitational in Auburn's last outing and has a 72.54 stroke average, recording three top-20 finishes. Gilchrest has a 72.38 stroke average and Long a 73.44 stroke average.
The rest of the field includes Akron, Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, Duke, GRU August, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, USC-Aiken, Virginia, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.
