    No. 9 Auburn Golf Set To Defend Title At The E-Z-Go Invite

    AUBURN - The ninth-ranked Auburn men's golf team will return as defending champions to the Chris Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.

    The Tigers lineup features two players ranked in Golfweek Magazine's top-25. No. 22 Michael Hebert will lead the Tigers in the top spot for the first time this season after recently recording his fifth top-10 of the season at the General Hackler Collegiate. No. 12 Blayne Barber will hold down the No. 2 spot.

    "We are excited about the opportunity to play at the Schenkel Invitational," said Auburn head coach Nick Clinard. "It is an event with a great history and a strong tournament field. The guys have been working hard and are looking forward to trying to defend our title from 2010."

    Freshman Niclas Carlsson will play third, followed by juniors Kyle Kopsick and Cory Gilmer.

    Sophomore Dominic Bozzelli will compete as an individual.

    Gilmer will be making his first appearance in the Tigers' rotation this season after competing individually at three events.

    Also competing at the Chris Schenkel will be No. 5 Florida, Georgia Southern, Kentucky, No. 12 LSU, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, North Carolina, No. 20 NC State, North Florida, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and No. 19 Virginia.
