Auburn sophomore Glenn Northcutt was named SEC Golfer of the Week after leading the Tigers to a win in the Seminole Intercollegiate, the Southeastern Conference announced Thursday.
The Dothan, Ala. native is the first Auburn golfer to win the award since Lee Williams in April 2005.
"Glenn is very deserving of this honor after a solid tournament in Tallahassee," head coach Mike Griffin said. "He has really been consistent over the last two years, and his future his bright."
Northcutt tied for third in the Seminole Intercollegiate Tuesday with a 73-74-66--213. He carded eight birdies in his final round including five after the turn for a 31. He leads the team with a 71.89 stroke average and seven sub-par rounds. Northcutt has five career top-10 finishes.
Auburn returns to action at the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational March 17-18 in Statesboro, Ga.
