MOBILE, Ala. – The No. 22 Auburn men’s golf team will play in the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate at the par-72 Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course in Mobile, Ala., beginning Monday at 8:00 a.m. with two rounds to be played with the final round on Tuesday. Also featured in the tournament will be No. 12 LSU, No. 19 Illinois and No. 24 Vanderbilt.
"This is another great event on our schedule, and we have the opportunity to play in our home state," head coach Nick Clinard said. "Both golf courses are challenging and we are looking forward to the next two days."
Coming off his third career victory, senior All-American Dominic Bozzelli will be in the No. 1 spot for the Tigers. Bozzelli earned SEC Golfer of the Week honors after winning the Amer Ari Invitational with an 11-under 205.
All-SEC sophomore Michael Johnson will be in the No. 2 position after the Birmingham, Ala., native captured his third top-20 finish of the year after finishing tied for 20th at 2-under at the Amer Ari Invitational. Johnson leads the Tigers in scoring at 72.40 and has accumulated seven rounds at par or better and five sub-par rounds.
All-SEC senior Michael Hebert will compete in the No. 3 spot for Auburn, coming off a tied for 42nd finish at the Amer Ari Invitational. Hebert has three top-25 finishes this year, including a second place finish at The McLaughlin.
All-SEC junior Niclas Carlsson will play in the No. 4 position while senior David Zickler rounds out the Auburn lineup. Zickler will be making his second appearance of the season, finishing tied for 15th at The McLaughlin.
Redshirt freshman Jake Mondy, redshirt sophomore Dan Stringfellow and senior Jackson Beindorf will participate in the USA Individual Tournament at the Magnolia Grove Falls Golf Course, with one round held on Monday and one on Tuesday.
