AUBURN – Auburn senior All-American Dominic Bozzelli was named the SEC Men’s Golfer of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday. Bozzelli claimed his third-career individual title at the Amer Ari Invitational last Friday.
“It is a well-deserved honor as Dominic has worked hard and played very well in Hawaii,” head coach Nick Clinard said. “He's on the right track to have an exceptional spring, and it's fun to watch his progress.”
Bozzelli shot an 11-under 205 to win the tournament, edging out Stanford’s Steven Kearney and Washington’s Trevor Simsby by two strokes. The Pittsford, N.Y., native ranks third on the team in scoring at 72.61 and has finished in the top-20 four times this season.
Bozzelli and the Tigers return to action February 18-19 at the Mobile Bay Classic at the Crossings Course in Mobile, Ala.
