Auburn signee Ben Schlottman lost on the first hole of a sudden death playoff at the 2014 Sea Pines Junior Heritage held at Heron Point by Pete Dye in the Sea Pines Resort and the famed Harbour Town Golf Links.
Schlottman shot a 73-69--142 in the two-round event, finishing minus-1. Playing on Heron Point by Pete Dye on Saturday, he carded five birdies, four of them on the back nine but finished the round at plus-1. In Sunday's final round he birdied three of the first five holes and then birdied the 17th to finish the day at minus-2. For the tournament he shot a minus-2 on the par-3s and minus-4 on the par-5s.
Schlottman has had an impressive senior season, winning the Carolinas-Georgia Junior Championship and finishing ninth at the 88th New Year's Invitational, both in January.
Schlottman signed with Auburn this past fall along with Matthew Perrine of Austin, Texas. Both will join the program for the 2014-15 season.
