Auburn Men's Golf In 12th After 36 Holes at the David Toms Intercollegiate

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana - The Auburn men's golf team (291-582) is in 12th after Monday's opening 36 holes of the David Toms Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Louisiana in Baton Rouge.

Sophomore Kyle Kopsick (72-144) led the Tigers in a tie for 32nd followed by redshirt freshman David Zickler (73-145) tied for 38th, senior Cole Moreland (73-146) tied for 46th, sophomore John Stembridge (73-147) tied for 54th and sophomore Will McCurdy (74-148) tied for 56th.

"We've got a lot of ground to make up tomorrow if we want to get back into the top-seven," said Auburn head coach Nick Clinard. "No one shot big numbers today. We just didn't shoot low like everyone else did and we needed to."

Tournament host LSU (273-558) leads after 36-holes followed by Kent State (278-561), Southeastern Louisiana (275-564), North Florida (276-565), Pepperdine (281-566), Ole Miss (280-566), Mississippi State (279-567), Northwestern (292-571), Rice (287-572), Louisiana Tech (283-573), UAB (289-575), Auburn (291-582), South Alabama (288-583) and Louisiana-LaFayette (287-586).

LSU's John Peterson (66-132) holds the individual lead followed by Kent State's Mackenzie Hughes (66-134) in second.

Due to expected thunderstorms in the Baton Rouge area overnight, tee times have been adjusted to a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. CST. The Tigers are paired with Louisiana Tech and UAB.
