WINDERMERE, Fla. – Auburn men’s golf freshman Wells Padgett carded a bogey-free 4-under 68 final round Tuesday at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational to climb 15 spots in the standings and finish tied for ninth at 3-under 73-72-68—213. The No. 6 Tigers finished fifth in the event following a 3-under 285 final round performance at the par-72, 7,544-yard Isleworth Country Club.

“I’m proud of the guys this week and we improved each day,” head coach Nick Clinard said. “Learning the golf course each round helped as the hole locations were challenging each day. We head into the off season as one of the best teams in the nation and lots of areas to improve both mentally and physically. We have a high skill level and I am already excited for the spring.”

Freshman Brandon Mancheno finished off his debut fall season with a t-21st at 1-over 73-71-73—217. The Jacksonville, Fla. product finished in the top-25 in three of four events played.
