Auburn Men's Golf Tied For Eighth After First Two Rounds Of Bank Of Tennessee Intercollegiate At The Ridges

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn - The Auburn men's golf team fired a 302-297--599 and is tied for eighth after playing the first two rounds Saturday in the 15-team Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the par-72, 7,147-yard Ridges Golf and Country Club.

Sophomore Glenn Northcutt is tied for 17th at 4-over 148 while freshman Brent Cooper is tied for 33rd at 7-over 75-76--151. Junior Patton Kizzire is tied for 38th with a 77-75--152. Junior Jay Moseley is tied for 51st at 73-81--154 followed by senior Andrew Medley in a tie for 58th at 80-75--155.

Play was suspended late in the second round due to darkness.

"This is a tough course and it showed," Auburn head coach Mike Griffin said. "I am proud of Glenn for carrying us with a 71 in the second round. We have to come out tomorrow morning and try to improve."

Host and 13th-ranked East Tennessee State fired a 291-291--582 and has a one-shot lead over North Carolina (296-287--583). No. 10 Tennessee (294-290--584) is in third followed by South Carolina (304-288--592), TCU (294-298--592), Wake Forest (296-297--593), No. 1 Alabama (304-290--594), North Carolina State (299-300--599), Virginia Tech (296), who has three holes to finish in the second round at 23-over, Auburn (302-297--599), Kent State (305-296--601), Virginia (309) and UAB (306), both of whom will finish second-round play Sunday. No. 25 Pepperdine (312-304--616) is in 14th followed by Kentucky in 15th at 312-308--620.
