Jimmy Sidle
Jimmy Sidle became the first quarterback to lead the nation in rushing with 1,006 yards in 1963. He also led the SEC in offense with 1,712 yards and completed 53-of-136 passes for 706 yards and five touchdowns. After leading Auburn to a 9-1 season and an Orange Bowl bid, he was selected All-American in 1963. Due to a shoulder injury in the 1964 season opener against Houston, he was forced to move to tailback and saw limited playing time that year.
