Along with Tucker Frederickson, Bob Harris is recognized as the best defensive back in Auburn history. Like Frederickson, Harris' forte was run support. In 1981, he made 118 tackles, third best on the squad. In 1982, he was again Auburn's third leading tackler with 94. His top game came against Alabama in 1982 when he intercepted two passes. Harris' first interception set up a touchdown and the other preserved Auburn's first win over Alabama in 10 years.
