Must-see TV: Auburn's wild ride during Outback outing
Dec. 29, 2014

Auburn's Keymiya Harrell, Michael Sherwood, Jonathan Jones and Kamryn Pettway ride Falcon's Fury

By Charles Goldberg

TAMPA, Fla.  Jonathan Jones was so far up there that he was quite sure he could see his hotel four miles away.

And maybe Carrollton.

"I thought I saw Georgia. I thought I saw home," said the Auburn defensive back who rode Falcon's Fury with three of his teammates at Busch Gardens on Monday, and lived to tell about dropping from way up there to way down here in nothing flat. Busch Gardens says it's the tallest freestanding drop tower in North America at 335 feet.

Good sport Jonathan Jones provides video evidence of his trip up, and quick trip down, living up to his promise that he'd yell "War Eagle!" all the way.

Watch the video below.

Walk-on running back Michael Sherwood went up and came down with a promise, too, saying he would never ride it again.

Other Auburn players rode the Fury, and other things, too. But Jones, Sherwood, Keymiya Harrell and Kamyrn Pettway did it with the media watching and the cameras rolling.

It was all part of a good time for Auburn on their trip to Busch Gardens during an Outback Bowl activity that featured the entire park, including a special journey of feeding giraffes with Wisconsin players. They'll meet again in slightly different circumstances Thursday morning in the Outback Bowl.
