Auburn, Ala. - Former Auburn football defensive lineman Jay Ratliff, a member of the Dallas Cowboys, has been named to the NFC roster as a reserve for the 2010 Pro Bowl, the National Football League announced Tuesday. It is the second consecutive year that Ratliff has been named to the Pro Bowl. Last season he was named an NFC starter.

Ratliff has started all 15 games this season for Dallas, while recording 39 tackles, including 6.0 sacks and two forced fumbles. In his fifth NFL season, the Valdosta, Ga., native has played in 65 games, making 45 starts. He has tallied 142 tackles, including 21.5 sacks.

Ratliff is the first former Tiger defensive lineman to be named to consecutive Pro Bowls since Gary Walker in 2001 and 2002, and the first AU alum to make back-to-back appearances since offensive lineman Marcus McNeill in 2006 and 2007. It is the 12th straight year that at least one former Auburn player has been on a Pro Bowl roster.

The 2010 Pro Bowl will be played Jan. 31 in LandShark Stadium in Miami. The game will kick off at 7 p.m. CT and air on ESPN.
