AUBURN – The Auburn football team reported to Orlando Christmas night for the Capital One Bowl and spent the evening participating in a short team meeting before visiting  Epcot Center.

“It’s exciting for families and players to be here,” head coach Tommy Tuberville said.  “It’s a fun trip and a great bowl game.  There is a tremendous atmosphere at this game.  This is a game that gives us some extra practice time to help us become better next year and we’ll receive some national publicity playing against a great team in Penn State.

“I want our players to have a great time.  They’ve earned it.  It’s been a long time since August 1.  When you have an opportunity to come to this bowl game, which is one of the top ones in the SEC, it means you have had a successful year.  We want them to understand that we want to try to get back here.  The only way to do that is to continue to get better and do things the right way.  I want them to come to a place where they can have a lot of fun.  There is a tremendous atmosphere here with all the entertainment.”

Auburn will practice for the first time Thursday morning.  The Tigers will practice each day through Dec. 30 in preparation for their Jan. 1 game against Penn State.

Auburn will use Thursday afternoon for a trip to Walt Disney World.   The Tigers will also visit Universal Studios on Dec. 28 and Sea World on Dec. 29.
