Auburn Football Practice Report Tigers go in full pads Monday

Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn football team spent two hours on the practice fields Monday under clear, sunny skies polishing the game plan for the Northwestern Wildcats.

The Tigers hit on all phases Monday and closed practice with a controlled session for younger players.

Auburn head coach Gene Chizik was pleased with Monday's practice.

"I felt today was a good practice," Chizik said. "I think the players have kept their focus where it needs to be heading into the break."

The Tigers will hold their final practice in Auburn on Tuesday morning before taking a three-day break for the Christmas holiday.

"I think everyone is looking forward to the break," Chizik noted. "Tomorrow will be our last day and we'll cut back a little. We went full pads again today. We won't do as much against each other tomorrow as we did today."

Auburn takes on Northwestern at 10 a.m. CT Jan. 1, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. The game will be televised by ESPN. It will be Auburn's 35th bowl appearance and 12th in the last 15 years. The Tigers have a 19-13-2 record all-time in bowl games.

Auburn University students (limit one ticket per student) who picked up a half price bowl ticket voucher earlier this week have until Friday at 4:30 p.m. CT to purchase their discounted ticket. Students must present their Ignited card at the Auburn Ticket Office when purchasing the $35 ticket.
