    Auburn Football Practice Report

    Dec. 18, 2009

Auburn, Ala. - Heavy rains throughout the day and cold temperatures forced the Auburn football team indoors Friday afternoon as the Tigers continued preparations for their New Year's Day game against the Northwestern Wildcats.

The Auburn offensive unit took to the indoor practice facility for the first half of Friday's workout, while the defense watched film. After a halfway break for special teams work, the Tigers' defense took to the field while the offense went inside for film study.

"Practice went well today," Auburn head coach Gene Chizik said. "Obviously, weather was an issue and we split things up. We had a good day. Hopefully we will be able to get back outside tomorrow and continue bowl preparations. The guys started off the week with a little bit of rust, after having such a long layoff, but they have little extra in their step from that too."

The Tigers will practice Saturday at 2 p.m. before taking Sunday off. Auburn will then practice Monday and Tuesday before breaking for Christmas. The Tigers (7-5) will meet Northwestern (8-4) in the 2010 Outback Bowl on Jan. 1 in Tampa, Fla. The game will kick off at 10 a.m. CT in Raymond James Stadium and be nationally televised by ESPN.

Tickets for the Outback Bowl are $70 and may be purchased through the Auburn Ticket Office via auburntigers.com or by calling 1-800-AUB-1957. The Auburn Ticket Office also has an allotment of club level tickets for $150 each.

For the best seats, fans are strongly encouraged to place orders through the Auburn Athletic Department.

Official Bowl Packages are available through Total Sports Travel, the official Travel management company for Tigers Unlimited and the Auburn Alumni Association. Call 888-367-8781 for your reservation or visit totalsportstravel.com to pre-register.
