AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn running back Tre Mason picked up another honor Tuesday on the way to New York for this weekend's announcement of the Heisman Trophy winner.
Mason, center Reese Dismukes and defensive end Dee Ford were named to the first team on the coaches' All-SEC team announced Tuesday by the league office. Defensive back Chris Davis was named to the second team.
Mason and Ford were also named to the AP's first team Monday. Ten Tigers were honored on the AP's lineup of first-team, second-team and honorable-mention performers.
The appreciation for Mason shot up when he rushed for 304 yards and four touchdowns to beat Missouri in the SEC Championship Game. He has rushed for a league-best rushing 1,621 yards and 22 touchdowns this seasons. Mason's offensive line, with Dismukes in the center, has received more praise in recent weeks, too.
Ford has a team-best 12½ tackles for a loss, including 8½ sacks.
The coaches' All-SEC running backs have an Iron Bowl feel with Mason and Alabama's T.J. Yeldon. Johnny Manziel is the quarterback.
The SEC will announce Wednesday the winner of coach of the year plus the offensive, defensive, special teams and freshman of the year. The SEC's All-Freshman Team will be announced Thursday.
Here's the entire coaches' All-SEC team.
