AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn's Reese Dismukes is a finalist for another top college award. He was named one six finalists Monday for the Rimington Trophy, the award which honors the best center in college football. He is also a finalist for the Outland Trophy, which goes to the best lineman.
"I am very honored to be a finalist for this prestigious award," Dismukes said. "I wouldn't be here without my coaches and teammates. I am grateful for their support in helping me become the player I am."
Dismukes has started more games than any other Tiger, now at 49 heading into the Outback Bowl against Wisconsin on Jan. 1.
The Rimington other finalists are Jack Allen of Michigan State, David Andrews of Georgia, B.J. Finney of Kansas State, Andy Gallik of Boston College and Hroniss Grasu of Oregon.
The winner of the Rimington and Outland will be announced Thursday on ESPNU in conjunction with the Home Depot College Football Awards Show. The winner is selected by determining the consensus All-American center pick from three existing All-America teams.
