AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn was talking BCS title game Sunday night, and why not? About 30 minutes earlier, the Tigers received official word that they'll be playing Florida State in the BCS Championship Game in Pasadena on Jan. 6.

We tweeted some of the comments from coach Gus Malzahn, and players Chris Davis, Tre Mason and Dee Ford, and we'll present them, generally, in this notebook.

Two of the best lines…

•Iron Bowl hero Chris Davis: "That one play kind of changed my life. They said my name will be remembered at Auburn, and that's an honor."

•Tre Mason on making the BCS Championship Game: "Proud to say 'War Eagle' to people."

Malzahn on the contract he agreed to Friday, silencing rumors about other jobs, reassuring the team he'll be around: "This is where I want to be. You start hearing rumors... I'm blessed to be coach of the Auburn Tigers"

•Malzahn on Tigers being average early in the year: "Maybe below average. We weren't very good..."

• Malzahn on his clutch team: "In the biggest, most pressured moments, they came through. If it's a close game, they believe they're going to win."

•Malzahn on Tre Mason: "He's one of the best players in college football. He proved that yesterday" in the SEC title game.

• Malzahn on waiting to play in the Jan. 6 title game: "Any time you have a month before you play, you have to be strategic."

•Malzahn on his surprising Tigers: "I don't think I've had a team that has come as far as this team."

•Auburn's Chris Davis on Malzahn's coaching staff: "You can look at every coach as a father figure."

•Davis on Mason and the Heisman: "That's about everybody's dream, to be in the Heisman conversation growing up."

•Davis on the BCS: "It's an honor to be in this situation."

•Mason after his 46 carries in the SEC title game: "I'm feeling a little sore. That's just how you feel after a game."

•Mason on being included in Heisman talk: "It's nothing but a blessing. It was a dream of mine as a kid."

•Ford on season, BCS invite: "We said we'd find a way to win. That's what we've done."

•Dee Ford on making the BCS Championship Game: "It's been a remarkable ride…It's a great feeling."
