AUBURN - Eight members of the No. 2-ranked Auburn football team have been named to Phil Steele's All-SEC Teams, including five members who made the first team.
Four of Auburn's five first-team members are on the offensive side of the ball, including three members of the Tigers' offensive line. Senior guard Byron Isom, senior center Ryan Pugh and senior tackle Lee Ziemba all made the first team, and were joined by junior quarterback Cam Newton.
The three linemen were instrumental in Auburn leading the SEC in total offense (490.1), scoring offense (41.6) and rushing offense (291.3). Newton, meanwhile, leads the SEC in rushing (111.3) and passing efficiency (185.57).
The final first-team selection was junior defensive tackle Nick Fairley, who leads the SEC in tackles for loss (20.0) and is second in sacks (9.5).
Senior linebacker Josh Bynes, who leads Auburn with 68 tackles, was named to the second-team defense, while junior wideout Darvin Adams, who leads the squad with 41 catches for 692 yards and has five touchdown grabs, made the third-team offense.
Senior kicker Wes Byrum rounded out the list of Auburn players on the All-SEC squads, earning fourth-team recognition. Byrum has broken his own school record for points scored by kicking with 107 this season.
Auburn finished the regular season with a 12-0 record, including an 8-0 mark in the SEC, winning the SEC West title.
