Auburn in the NFL – Week 12

Auburn entered the 2012 season with 28 alumni on National Football League rosters, the eighth-best total among college football programs.

Devin Aromashodu (WR, Minnesota Vikings)
Did not record a reception in a 28-10 loss to Chicago on Sunday. Aromashodu has 11 receptions for 182 yards this season, his fifth in the NFL and second with the Vikings. He has totaled 78 catches for 1,193 in his career.

Rob Bironas (PK, Tennessee Titans)
Tied his season high with four field goals on Sunday in a 24-19 loss to Jacksonville. Long field goal came from 40 yards out. Bironas has hit 20-of-24 field goals this season. He has hit on 83.3 percent of his attempts in eight seasons.

Ronnie Brown (RB, San Diego Chargers)
Touched the ball six times for 39 yards with a long rush of 13 in a 16-13 loss to Baltimore. Brown’s 13 rushing yards during week 6 put him over 5,000 for his career. He has played in 102 games in his career with 49 touchdowns.

Josh Bynes (LB, Baltimore Ravens)
Did not record any statistics in Baltimore’s 16-13 win over the Chargers.. Bynes has played in five games and totaled three tackles in 2012. He has played in six games in his two-year career as a reserve linebacker with Baltimore.

Jason Campbell (QB, Chicago Bears)
Returned to his role as backup with Jay Cutler back from injury in a 28-10 win over the Vikings. Campbell has played in five games in his sixth NFL season after being selected in the first round by Washington in 2005. He has passed for more than 14,000 yards in his career with 75 touchdowns.

Karlos Dansby (LB, Miami Dolphins)
Seven tackles and one deflection in a 24-21 win over Seattle. A nine-year veteran, Dansby has more than 800 stops in his career. The Birmingham native has 83 tackles in 2012. He’s one of just four active NFL players with at least 30 sacks and 10 interceptions.

Tristan Davis (RB, Washington Redskins)
Will miss the 2012 season after being placed on injured reserve on September 3.

King Dunlap (OT, Philadelphia Eagles)
Made his seventh start overall, back at left tackle for the second consecutive week, in a 30-22 loss to Carolina. He’s played in nine games this season with seven starts after missing two games due to a hamstring injury. Dunlap has played in 47 games in four seasons with 14 starts.

Nick Fairley (DT, Detroit Lions)
Five tackles on Thursday as the Lions narrowly fell to Houston 34-31 in overtime in the annual Thanksgiving Day game. Fairley has 16 tackles and three sacks in the last three games. The 13th overall pick in 2011, Fairley has played in 21 games with five starts in two seasons with the Lions. He has 27 tackles and 4.5 sacks in sophomore season.

Mario Fannin (RB, Denver Broncos)
Will miss the 2012 season after being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury on August 8.

Tyronne Green (OG, San Diego Chargers)
Missed Sunday’s loss to Baltimore with a hamstring injury. He had started all 10 games this season for the Chargers. Green has played in 28 games in his career and started 25 times.

Quentin Groves (LB, Arizona Cardinals)
Season high seven tackles and his first sack since Week Three as he made his second-straight start at linebacker in Arizona’s 31-17 loss to St. Louis. Groves is in his first season in Arizona and fifth overall in the NFL and he has 30 tackles with three sacks. He has totaled 137 tackles in his career with 5.5 sacks and two interceptions.

Ben Grubbs (OG, New Orleans Saints)
Kept his streak of starts going at 11 in 2012 as New Orleans fell to the 49ers, 31-21. Grubbs has played in 85 games in his six-year career with 81 starts. He has started in every game he has played since 2008.

Josh Harris (DS, Atlanta Falcons)
Served as the long snapper for the Falcons as they defeated Tampa Bay, 24-23. He has played in all 11 games in 2012 as the deep snapper. Harris is in his first season with the Falcons after being signed as a free agent. He has registered three special teams tackles this season.

Will Herring (LB, New Orleans Saints)
Did not record any statistics, but saw time at linebacker and on special teams in a 31-21 loss to San Francisco. Herring has totaled 128 tackles in his six-year career and has 10 total stops (seven solo) this season.

Brandon Jacobs (RB, San Francisco 49ers)
Saw his first action of 2012 in a 31-21 defeat of the Saints. He recorded one carry for one yard. Jacobs is an eight-year NFL veteran and is in his first year with the 49ers after seven seasons with the New York Giants, including two Super Bowl victories.

Spencer Johnson (DE, Buffalo Bills)
One tackle in a 20-13 loss to the Colts. Johnson has 11 tackles this season and 295 total in his nine-year career.

Pat Lee (DB, Detroit Lions)
Saw action, but did not record any statistics for Detroit in a 34-31 overtime loss to the Texans. Lee has played in 10 games combined this season for the Raiders and Lions. He has recorded 30 tackles with four break ups, one interception and one forced fumble.

Sen'Derrick Marks (DT, Tennessee Titans)
Two tackles and a deflection on Sunday in a 24-19 loss to the Jaguars. Marks has 23 tackles and one sack in 2012. He has played in 46 games in his four-year career with 21 starts. He has totaled 81 tackles and 2.5 sacks during his tenure.

Brandon Mosley (OG, New York Giants)
Will miss the 2012 season after being placed on injured reserve on August 27 with an ankle injury.

Cam Newton (QB, Carolina Panthers)
Posted his third 300 yard passing game of the season as he completed 18-of-28 passes for 306 yards, while also rushing 14 times for 52 yards and two scores as the Panthers defeated Philadelphia 30-22 on Monday Night Football. It was his first four touchdown game of the season and second of his career. Newton has thrown for 2,701 yards with 11 touchdowns and rushed for 446 yards with six scores in his second season after being drafted with the top overall pick in 2011. Newton has 52 total touchdowns in 27 career games.

Ben Obomanu (WR, Seattle Seahawks)
Did not play on Sunday but has played in eight games for Seattle in 2012. Obomanu has played in 66 games and totaled 87 receptions for 1,209 yards with seven touchdowns in his six-year career, all with the Seahawks.

Jerraud Powers (DB, Indianapolis Colts)
Placed on injured reserve on November 13 with a toe injury. He finished the 2012 season with 40 tackles and one interception in eight starts. Powers has started all 42 games in his career and registered 210 tackles with six interceptions in four seasons.

Jay Ratliff (DT, Dallas Cowboys)
Missed the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day game with Washington due to a groin injury. Ratliff is in his eighth season, all with Dallas. He has started 84 games with 228 tackles and 27.0 sacks.

Carlos Rogers (DB, San Francisco 49ers)
Started at corner for the 49ers in a 31-21 win over New Orleans. In his eighth season after being drafted No. 9 overall by Washington in 2005, Rogers has 35 tackles in 2012. He’s started all but three of the 93 games he played in since 2006 and was a 2011 Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection.

Pat Sims (DT, Cincinnati Bengals)
Three tackles in a 34-10 win by the Bengals over Oakland. A five-year veteran, Sims has played in 55 games with 23 starts. He missed the first eight games of the season due to injury.

Takeo Spikes (LB, San Diego Chargers)
Posted nine tackles, his highest total since week three, and half a sack in San Diego’s 16-13 loss to Baltimore. The 15-year veteran has started all 11 games for the Chargers in 2012 and totaled 57 tackles (36 solo) with one forced fumble. Spikes has recorded 1,412 tackles in his 15 seasons in the NFL, the last two with San Diego.

Ben Tate (RB, Houston Texans)
Missed his fourth-straight game with a hamstring injury as the Texans defeated Detroit 34-31. Tate has 178 yards rushing and two touchdowns this season for the AFC-leading Texans. For his career, the Maryland native has run for 1,120 yards and six touchdowns.

Neiko Thorpe (DB, Kansas City Chiefs)
Played in his fourth game of the season for the Chiefs in a 17-9 loss to Denver. Thorpe is in his first year in the league after signing as an undrafted free agent over the summer.

Lee Ziemba (OT, Carolina Panthers)
Will miss the 2012 season after being placed on injured reserve on September 3 with a knee injury.
