AUBURN, Ala. -
The Auburn football team held its final workout prior to Friday's game against Alabama with a 75-minute workout in shorts and helmets Wednesday afternoon at the practice fields behind the Athletics Complex.
With the Iron Bowl being played on Friday, the Tigers held what would typically be a "Thursday" practice on Wednesday, with no contact. The first portion of practice focused on all aspects of special teams, before the offense and defense split up to work against the scout teams for the remainder of practice.
Following practice, head coach Gene Chizik said that the Tigers executed well during Wednesday's session.
"I thought we had a good practice today," said Chizik. "We're just trying to wind everything up and clean up some things. We have basically the same type of walk-through things tomorrow, so we have one more day, but today I was pleased and I think after we clean a few things up that we'll be ready to go."
Auburn will hold a walk-through and meetings Thursday morning before celebrating Thanksgiving during the day.
Auburn (7-4, 3-4 SEC) will host No. 2 Alabama (11-0, 7-0 SEC) on Friday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game will kick off at 1:30 p.m. CT and be nationally televised by CBS.
