Auburn Football Practice Report
Nov. 20, 2008
AUBURN - The Auburn football team returned to the practice fields behind the Athletics Complex Thursday morning, working out for close to two hours in shells as the Tigers continue to prepare for a Nov. 29 game at Alabama. The Tigers started practice with special teams work, but spent most of practice split into offensive and defensive units while working against the scout teams. Following practice, head coach Tommy Tuberville said that the Tigers will have a challenge facing the top-ranked Crimson Tide, who enter the game with an 11-0 record. "They've made the plays," said Tuberville. "They are a solid team that doesn't make a lot of mistakes. They're physical and run the ball well. They have a fifth-year senior quarterback making good decisions. Their defense has I'm sure played to their expectations. They've stayed healthy. Their kicking game has been very solid and fruitful for them." Auburn (5-6, 2-5 SEC) will travel to Tuscaloosa to meet Alabama (11-0, 7-0 SEC) on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 2:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised nationally by CBS. Auburn has won six straight in the series to trim Alabama's lead in the all-time series to 38-33-1. Seventeen of the last 20 games between the teams have been decided by 10 points or less, including all six games during Auburn's winning streak. After a session of walk-throughs on Friday, the Tigers will take Saturday off before returning to practice on Sunday afternoon.
