AUBURN, Ala. -
The Auburn held its last workout of the week late Thursday afternoon, practicing for 90 minutes on the practice fields behind the Athletics Complex. The Tigers will conduct a walk-through early Friday morning before taking Saturday off.
Practicing in shells, the Tigers opened with special teams drills before moving on to individual and position work. After more special teams, the offense and defense spent much of the second half of practice working against the scout team units before coming together to work as a team to close the workout.
Following practice, head coach Gene Chizik said that the Tigers continued what has been a good week for the squad.
"We had a really good practice," said Chizik. "I thought it was really upbeat, and the preparations went well. The tempo has been good and the focus has been good, as you would expect. We're pleased right now with where we are."
After Friday's walk-through, the Tigers will enjoy their only bye week of the season this Saturday and will resume practice on Sunday.
Auburn (7-4, 3-4 SEC) will host No. 2 Alabama (10-0, 7-0 SEC) next Friday, Nov. 27, in Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game will kick off at 1:30 p.m. CT and be televised by CBS.
