AUBURN, Ala. -- Tre Mason's second consecutive 1,000-yard season rushing is attracting national attention.
The Auburn running back was named a semifinalist Thursday for the Doak Walk Award, which goes to the nation's top runner.
Mason has rushed for 1,038 yards and an SEC-best 16 touchdowns heading into Saturday's game against Georgia. Mason leads the SEC in scoring. He's fourth in the SEC in rushing yards per game and second in total rushing yards.
He's the No. 1 impact rusher in the SEC, according to the league.
"God has blessed me with the hardwork, dedication and persistence to be able to accomplish my dreams this year," Mason said. "Being a part of what my team is achieving is something truly special."
