AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn's Dee Ford is on the watch list for the Ted Hendricks Award, which honors the college football defensive end that exhibits "on-field performance, exceptional winning attitude, leadership abilities, contributions to school and community and academic preparedness."
Ford leads Auburn in sacks, tackles for a loss and quarterback hurries, though he missed two games with an injury. Ford has 10.5 tackles for a loss and seven sacks, which puts him third in the SEC in both categories.
The Hendricks winner will be announced Dec. 11.
Ford is one of 18 players on the Hendricks watch list. The others are Clemson's Vic Beasley, Boston College's Kasim Edebali, Memphis' Martin Ifedi, Boise State's Demarcus Lawrence, Louisville's Lorenzo Mauldin, Texas' Cedric Reed, Louisville's Marcus Smith, Colorado's Chidera Uzo-Diribe, Oregon State'sScott Crichton, Toledo's Jayrone Elliot, Nebraska's Randy Gregory, Texas' Jackson Jeffcoat, North Carolina's Kareem Martin, Kansas State's Ryan Mueller, Missouri's Michael Same, Arkansas' Chris Smith and Oregon's Tony Washington.
