Auburn Football Practice Report
Nov. 11, 2009
AUBURN - The Auburn football team continued preparations for Saturday's game at Georgia with a two-hour practice in full pads Wednesday at the practice fields behind the Athletics Complex. The Tigers were greeted by cool but dry conditions following a day of rain on Tuesday. Auburn followed its typical routine, conducting special teams drills, individual and position drills and working against the scout teams. Following practice, head coach Gene Chizik said that the Tigers continue to have an extra bounce in their step as they prepare for the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry. "We had a good practice today," said Chizik. "As you would expect, it's been a pretty spirited week. I think our guys are excited about playing these types of games. Obviously we do have a good bit of work left to do, but we've had three good days of practice this week." Auburn will return to the practice fields Thursday at 4:30 for their final workout prior to Saturday's contest. Auburn (7-3, 3-3 SEC) will visit Georgia (5-4, 3-3 SEC) Saturday at 6 p.m. CT in Sanford Stadium in Athens. The game will be televised by ESPN2. The Tigers have an 18-10 advantage all-time in games played in Athens, although Georgia won on Auburn's last trip to Sanford Stadium, 45-20, in 2007.
