AUBURN -- Auburn University's Department of Athletics and Office of Trademark Management and Licensing are teaming up with Goodwill Industries and announce the "Shed the Red" clothing drive November 8-12 leading up to the football game against the University of Georgia.
"We are excited to partner with Goodwill in the Shed the Red promotion. This is a great way for the Auburn family to give back to the community," stated Scott Carr, AU's Senior Associate AD for External Affairs.
Tiger fans can donate gently used red clothing at participating Auburn and Opelika retailers and at the Goodwill location on Pepperell Parkway in Midway Plaza and receive a percentage off the All Auburn All Orange t-shirt or other Auburn product.
The football game against UGA is the final All Auburn All Orange event of the fall. All students, alumni and fans are encouraged to wear their All Auburn All Orange t-shirt to the UGA game. Royalties from the All Auburn All Orange t-shirt support the SGA's Big Event. The Big Event organizes thousands of AU students to perform service projects in the community on one specific day. Funds from this t-shirt help purchase items such as cleaning supplies, paint and rakes.
Show your support by shedding your red and wearing your orange! For a list of participating retailers and program rules, visit www.auburnloveitshowit.com.
