Auburn Football Practice Report
Oct. 25, 2009
AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn football team broke from its typical routine Sunday, forgoing practice in favor of holding team meetings at the Athletics Complex. One day after playing for the eighth consecutive Saturday, the team was given a break from the rigors of the practice field. With three more games until the Tigers' only bye week of the season, it provided a chance for the team to rest and recover physically. Following the meetings, defensive coordinator Ted Roof met with the media, and discussed the performance of the defense during Saturday night's loss at LSU. "I thought we did a better job," said Roof. "There are some areas where we made progress, but we're still not where we need to be, and want to be. I thought we were more physical than we have been with the front seven. We got better pressure on the passer than we have been. We had a big stop on the goal-line, a big takeaway, and that was a promising thing. We just have to eliminate those things that are keeping us from beating a very talented football team like LSU." Auburn will host Ole Miss Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium, with kickoff slated for 11:21 a.m. CT. The game will be televised by the SEC Network. The Ole Miss game is also a "Navy Nightmare", as fans are encouraged to wear Auburn navy or an official Navy Nightmare shirt to the game.
