AUBURN - Auburn quarterback Cam Newton has received two more honors for his performance against Arkansas as he was named the Rivals.com National Player of the Week and the Davey O'Brien Quarterback of the Week.

It marked the second time this season that Newton received both honors. He was previously honored with both awards after his performance against South Carolina Sept. 25.

Newton accounted for 328 yards of total offense and four touchdowns during Auburn's 65-43 victory over Arkansas on Saturday. He rushed for 188 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries, and completed 10-of-14 passes for 140 yards and another score.

The College Park, Ga., native scored on touchdown runs of 5, 1 and 3 yards, and connected on a 15-yard scoring strike to Emory Blake to give Auburn the lead for good in the fourth quarter. He was 4-for-4 for 52 yards and the TD pass and also had his final rushing touchdown during the decisive fourth quarter.

Newton became the first player in school history to rush for three or more touchdowns in three consecutive SEC games, and the second player in school history to rush for three or more touchdowns in back-to-back games, joining Joe Cribbs (1979).

Newton also became the only player in school history to rush for 170 or more yards in three consecutive SEC games, and the second player in school history to rush for 170 or more yards at least four times in a single season, joining Bo Jackson who had five games of 170+ yards in 1985.
