The Auburn football team is ranked fourth in the first Bowl Championship Series standings released Sunday. It is Auburn's highest BCS ranking since Oct. 15, 2006, when the Tigers were also ranked fourth.
Auburn is 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Southeastern Conference after defeating No. 12 Arkansas 65-43 Saturday. The Tigers are ranked fifth by the Associated Press, USA Today and the Harris Interactive polls.
The Tigers are the highest ranked SEC team in the BCS standings are behind top-ranked Oklahoma (6-0), No. 2 Oregon (6-0) and No. 3 Boise State (6-0).
Auburn's next opponent is LSU which is ranked sixth in the BCS Standings. LSU is 7-0 overall and 4-0 in SEC play. Auburn and LSU will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday. The game will be nationally televised by CBS.
