"We've Got Our Work Cut Out For Us"
Oct. 16, 2012
AUBURN - Beginning their on-field work for Saturday's SEC matchup at Vanderbilt, the Auburn Tigers practiced two hours in full pads Tuesday evening at the Auburn Athletics Complex Practice Fields. Saturday's game, at a sold-out Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, will kickoff at 11:21 a.m. CT and will be televised by the SEC Network.
"Vanderbilt is a team that plays extremely hard," said Auburn head coach Gene Chizik about this week's opponent. "Offensively, they've got a tailback that is extremely, extremely talented; they have a couple of different wideouts that are very, very good; and the quarterback is a guy that can really manage the offense.
"Defensively, the thing that is most impressive about them is it's really been difficult for people to throw the ball on them. And then just how hard they play defensively is very, very impressive.
"It's a very good team, and we've got our work cut out for us to go there on an early game on Saturday and beat these guys."
The Tigers return home to Jordan-Hare Stadium Saturday, October 27, hosting Texas A&M on Military Appreciation Day. That game, with a 6 p.m. CT kickoff, will be televised by ESPNU.
