Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn football team went through a 90 minute practice session Wednesday afternoon on the outdoor practice fields, with the first and second units getting work against each other.

Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville was pleased with effort he saw from the Tigers and noted the team was put through a physical practice session.

"We had a lot of contact today, we got after it from beginning to end," Tuberville said. "The players responded. We challenged them in a lot of different things. We went against each other most of the day."

Tuberville added the Tigers spent additional time working on fundamentals and technique.

"We went back to fundamentals, blocking and tackling, and the things we need to do in order to get better," Tuberville said. "We didn't work much on kicking, we'll get back to that Sunday or Monday. We did get some work in on returns."

The Tigers return to the practice fields Thursday at 8:45 a.m. before taking Friday and Saturday off. Auburn will return to work Sunday in preparation for next Thursday's game against West Virginia, which will be televised nationally by ESPN. The game is slated for a 6:45 p.m. CT kickoff in Morgantown, W.Va.
