Your 2015 schedule: Auburn at Kentucky on Thursday night
Oct. 14, 2014

Auburn's last trip to Lexington saw Cam Newton lead the Tigers to a last-second victory

By Charles Goldberg
AUBURN, Ala.  Auburn will play Kentucky on a Thursday night in Lexington on a 2015 schedule that kicks off with a game against Louisville in Atlanta and ends with Alabama visiting Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Kentucky rolls on the schedule and South Carolina goes off as the Tigers' rotating SEC East opponent.

The SEC home schedule features the return of traditional late-in-the-season rivals Georgia and Alabama, plus Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
Unlike this year, when Auburn opened the season against SEC rival Arkansas, the Tigers won't play a conference game until the third week next season, at LSU on Sept. 19.

Also unlike this year, there's one bye week, not two. Auburn will play five games before its bye week next season. The bye week is strategically placed, giving Auburn 13 days before the Thursday night game at Kentucky on Oct. 15, and eight days to prepare for a road game at Arkansas on Oct. 24.
Three of Auburn's first four SEC games will be on the road. Auburn's SEC home games are, in order, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia and Alabama. The away games are LSU, Kentucky, Arkansas and Texas A&M.
Auburn and Kentucky have met only 10 times since 1992, the last coming in 2010 when Cam Newton accounted for five touchdowns before leading the Tigers on a 19-play drive that set up Wes Byrum's game-winning field goal as time expired in a 37-34 victory in Lexington.
Auburn will step out of conference play to open the season against Louisville in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic on Sept. 5.  Jacksonville State visits the following week. Auburn will also play San Jose State at home for the second straight year and will play Idaho at home in a game placed between traditional rivals Georgia and Alabama.
