Auburn Announces 2009 Football Schedule

AUBURN - The Auburn football team will open the 2009 season on Sept. 5 against Louisiana Tech, marking the first of four consecutive home games in September. Mississippi State, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Alabama will be Auburn's Southeastern Conference home games at Jordan-Hare Stadium, while the Tigers' road schedule will include games at Tennessee, Arkansas, LSU and Georgia. The Tigers open SEC play on Sept. 12 at home versus Mississippi State before hosting West Virginia and Ball State to round out September's slate of four home dates. Auburn will begin October with consecutive road games at Tennessee (Oct. 3) and Arkansas (Oct. 10). The game at Tennessee will be the Tigers first appearance in Knoxville since 2004. The Tigers return home to host Kentucky on Oct. 17, followed by a trip to LSU (Oct. 24) and back to Jordan-Hare Stadium on Oct. 31 against Ole Miss. Furman will serve as Auburn's annual Homecoming opponent when the Tigers host the Paladins on Nov. 7. Auburn will travel to Georgia on Nov. 14 before an open date on Nov. 21.
