AUBURN - Continuing the tradition of "All Auburn, All Orange," the Kentucky game on Oct. 17 and the Alabama game on Nov. 27 are designated All Auburn, All Orange events. Fans are encouraged to wear the official 2009 All Auburn, All Orange shirt to these games.
"The spirit and passion of the Auburn family are unmatched," Auburn head football coach Gene Chizik said. "We can feel the support of our fans the moment we begin Tiger Walk and as we enter the stadium. The atmosphere in Jordan-Hare Stadium is inspiring. When you look up in the stands and see from the student section all around the stadium a sea of orange, it's inspiring to our players and hopefully intimidating to the opposing team."
A portion of the proceeds from the All Auburn, All Orange shirts supports the Student Government Association's Big Event. The Big Event is a way for Auburn students to give back to the Auburn community through service projects on one specific day. The Big Event is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2010. If your organization would like to request volunteers for The Big Event, please contact the SGA office.
The Ole Miss game on Oct. 31 is being called a Navy Nightmare. Fans are encouraged to wear Auburn navy or an official Navy Nightmare shirt to the game. "For the Kentucky and Alabama games, we are asking our fans to support the All Auburn, All Orange program," Director of Athletics Jay Jacobs said. "Since the Ole Miss game is on Halloween, we want to do something out of the ordinary and host a Navy Nightmare at Jordan-Hare Stadium. We encourage our fans to wear their Auburn navy to this game."
"We hope that all students and fans will participate in the remaining two All Auburn, All Orange games and the Navy Nightmare event," SGA President Jacob Watkins said. "Imagine entering Jordan-Hare and seeing the entire stadium completely orange and then two weeks later, completely navy. What a great way to show a unified support of our Tigers."
