AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn has returned to the Top 25, landing at No. 23 in this week's Associated Press poll following a run through the first half of a schedule that featured four wins and losses to two of the Top 10 teams in the country.
The Tigers are fresh off a 38-14 win over Mississippi State. Auburn's two losses are to No. 3 Clemson and No. 6 Texas A&M.
Three of Auburn's next six opponents are ranked: Alabama, Ole Miss and Arkansas. The Tigers are one of seven SEC teams ranked.
The Tigers have an open date this week. They'll return to action against the No. 22 Razorbacks on Oct. 22 in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
The AP poll is here.
Auburn barely missed being ranked in the coaches poll. The Tigers had the 26th most points in the voting, just short of No. 25 LSU, a team the Tigers beat 18-13 on Sept. 24.
