AUBURN - The No. 15/23 Auburn football team returned to the practice fields Wednesday night as it continued to work toward Saturday's game at No. 10/12 Arkansas (4-1, 0-1 SEC).
The Tigers (4-1, 2-0 SEC) practiced for just under two hours in shorts and shells. Auburn focused on positional drills, mixing in some special teams work and situational plays against the scout teams.
Coming off the team's first road win of the season last weekend at South Carolina, 16-13, Auburn head coach Gene Chizik was pleased with the energy his team brought to the practice fields this week.
"We had two really good practices this week, yesterday and today," said Chizik. "I feel like we are continuing to improve, but this will be a great test for us."
Saturday's game marks back-to-back weeks for the Tigers on the road and is one of three road games against top-10 ranked teams in the month of October.
"Arkansas is a really, really good football team, as we know, but practice has gone well this week and we have to continue to maintain a certain level of focus tomorrow and Friday and give ourselves a chance to win," said Chizik. "But, I feel like we made some progress this week again in some areas. One more day of practice and, again, we need it, but practice went well this week."
Auburn and Arkansas will kickoff at 6 p.m. CT Saturday. The game will be televised by ESPN.
