Sept. 30, 2009
Auburn, Ala. -
The Auburn football team spent two hours on the outdoor practice fields Wednesday working on the game plan for their upcoming tilt against the Tennessee Volunteers.
Auburn head coach Gene Chizik said the Tigers had a productive practice session Wednesday as they prepared for their first road game of the 2009 season.
"Today was a really good day," Chizik said. "The focus was there (from the players). We are done with the planning and now we just need to execute. I thought our energy was up."
Going into the first road game of the season, Chizik noted the team will keep their preparation as much like a home game as possible.
"We will do all our work here (in Auburn) before we leave for Knoxville," Chizik said. "We'll try to keep everything the same as when we are at home."
Auburn (4-0, 1-0 SEC) and Tennessee (2-2, 0-1 SEC) kickoff at 6:45 p.m. CT this Saturday from Neyland Stadium. The Tigers are averaging 45.3 points per game on offense, while the Volunteers are allowing 18.0 points per game defensively.
