AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn football team completed its last workout prior to Saturday's Southeastern Conference showdown with South Carolina on Thursday at the practice fields behind the Athletic Complex. The Tigers practiced for a little more than an hour in shorts and shells.
Head coach Tommy Tuberville was happy with the team's performance at practice today and said his squad is excited about returning to the SEC portion of its schedule.
"We had a good practice today," said Tuberville. "It was very enthusiastic. I think it's because the weather was a little cooler today. We were very sharp. We're ready to play, and the guys are fired up about being back in the SEC."
Auburn went straight into scout team preparation to begin Thursday's practice, and the first teams on both offense and defense also practiced against the second teams. Over the last half hour of practice, the Tigers worked on all aspects of their special teams play.
A limited number of tickets for Saturday's game are available. Tickets are $45 each and may be purchased at the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum Ticket Office or by calling 1-800-AUB-1957 or online at www.auburntigers.com.
Auburn will host the Gamecocks Saturday at 6 p.m. CT at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game will be televised live on ESPN2.
