Auburn, Ala. -
The Auburn football team spent an hour on the outdoor practice fields Sunday night working on corrections from Saturday's win over Florida Atlantic and beginning preliminary work for next Saturday's conference match-up with No. 10/9 South Carolina.
Auburn defensive coordinator Ted Roof called Sunday's practice session positive and believed the Tigers made progress as a team.
"It was a good night," Roof said. "We got a lot accomplished. There were a lot of corrections and we gave them an initial introduction on South Carolina. It was a really good night for us."
Roof added the Tigers face a stiff challenge this weekend in Columbia against the Gamecocks.
"South Carolina has some weapons," Roof stated. "They are playing very, very well. It's going to be all hands on deck this week."
South Carolina features the league's top rusher in running back Marcus Lattimore who is averaging 152.8 yards per game and has rushed for eight touchdowns.
The Tigers will take their customary day off Monday before returning to practice Tuesday.
Auburn (3-1, 1-0 SEC) and South Carolina (4-0, 1-0 SEC) kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT from Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C. The game will be televised by CBS.
