Auburn Football Practice Report
Sept. 21, 2008
AUBURN - The No. 15 Auburn football team held a light workout in shells Sunday afternoon at the practice fields behind the Athletics Complex as the Tigers prepare for Saturday's game against Tennessee. The workout included little contact as the Tigers recovered from Saturday night's 26-21 loss to LSU. The offense and defense started with group drills before splitting up to work against the scout teams. During his weekly teleconference Sunday, head coach Tommy Tuberville said although he was disappointed with the close loss, he was happy with the effort. "I'm proud of our team," said Tuberville. "We played hard. We played probably more consistent that we have all year long. We just didn't make a play at the end to get the job done. I thought the coaches and players both prepared very well for the game. We knew it would be a very physical match-up." Auburn (3-1, 1-1 SEC) will host Tennessee (1-2, 0-1 SEC) Saturday in the first meeting between the two teams since the 2004 SEC Championship game in Atlanta. It will be the Vols' first trip to Jordan-Hare Stadium since 2003. Auburn leads the series, 25-21-3, and has won the last three games in the series. Saturday's game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT and will be nationally televised by CBS.
