AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn Tigers spent the first half of Tuesday's practice outdoors, but inclement weather arrived, forcing the team inside the new indoor practice facility.
The Tigers continued preparations for Saturday's non-conference matchup against Florida Atlantic with an 80-minute session on Tuesday evening.
Auburn spent the first half of practice in helmets and shorts before swapping to shells for the final 20 minutes.
Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn said the practice was productive and that the coaching staff is trying to prepare the team for a string of tough games on the horizon.
"Practice tonight had good focus," Malzahn said. "Our guys were locked in and ready to move on to Florida Atlantic. I feel like we got better tonight.
"We've been very physical and we've got a stretch coming up. We are just trying to make sure our guys are fresh for the stretch coming up, but at the same time, it was good work."
Malzahn stressed that the offense's overall performance is one of the things it is working on improving in the next few weeks.
"I'd say overall execution," he said. "We've got to get better at the little things. We've got to get better at protecting. We've got to do a better job of that. We are looking at what we've done the last three games and we are starting to find out our identity and our strengths and weaknesses."
Auburn and Florida Atlantic will kickoff at 6 p.m. CT, Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net. It will be the first night game for the Tigers as their first three games of the season were played before Noon.
