Auburn, Ala. -
The Auburn football team practiced for 30 minutes Sunday evening addressing missed assignments and correcting mistakes from Saturday's 41-30 victory over West Virginia.
Auburn defensive coordinator Ted Roof said that while the Tigers' defense earned the victory against the Mountaineers, there were areas to improve upon before the next game.
"I rated our (defense) performance good enough to win," Roof stated. "We missed too many tackles, we didn't get off the field enough on third down and we let the quarterback scramble and keep plays alive."
Roof noted that Sunday's practice focused on the details of alignment and tackling.
"We got a lot of corrections done today," Roof said. "We were exact with what we were coaching today. We focused on the details of assignments, communication and where we're supposed to line up. We spent time working on all the little things that go into playing good defense."
The Tigers will take Monday off before returning to the practice fields Tuesday in preparation for next Saturday's game against Ball State.
Auburn and Ball State will kickoff at 6 p.m. CT from Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game will be carried by Fox Sports South.
