Auburn in the NFL – Week Two
Daren Bates (LB, St. Louis Rams)
Bates saw playing time on special teams, but did not record any statistics in the Rams’ 31-24 defeat by the Falcons. He has one solo tackle this season.
Rob Bironas (PK, Tennessee Titans)
Made 1-of-2 field goals against the Texans, missing a 48-yarder wide right in the second quarter. Bironas also made three extra points as Houston defeated the Titans, 30-24 in overtime.
Ronnie Brown (RB, San Diego Chargers)
Ran for 15 yards on three attempts against the Philadelphia Eagles. Also had one reception for 3 yards as the Chargers defeated Philadelphia, 33-30.
Josh Bynes (LB, Baltimore Ravens)
Started for the Ravens in their home opener against the Cleveland Browns and recorded eight tackles (three solo) as Baltimore earned the 14-6 victory. Bynes has 16 tackles in his two starts in 2013.
Jason Campbell (QB, Cleveland Browns)
Campbell was 1-of-4 for six yards against the Ravens after starting quarterback Brandon Weeden injured his thumb late in the fourth quarter. Campbell is a nine-year NFL veteran that has thrown for more than 14,000 yards in his career.
Karlos Dansby (LB, Arizona Cardinals)
Started for the Cardinals and totaled eight solo tackles, as well as a pass deflection to help Arizona defeat Detroit 25-21. Dansby has tallied 893 tackles in 10 seasons in the NFL.
King Dunlap (OT, San Diego Chargers)
Started in the Chargers’ 33-30 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Dunlap is in his sixth season in the NFL and his first with the Chargers. He has started 21 games in his career.
Nick Fairley (DT, Detroit Lions)
Fairley did not play in Detroit’s 25-21 defeat by the Arizona Cardinals due to a shoulder injury. He has eight sacks and 54 combined tackles in his three-year career.
Tyronne Green (OG, New England Patriots)
Placed on the injured reserve on August 15 with an undisclosed injury.
Quentin Groves (LB, Cleveland Browns)
Recorded one tackle for the Browns in their 14-6 defeat by the Miami Dolphins. Groves has 7.5 sacks in his career and is in his first season with Cleveland.
Ben Grubbs (OG, New Orleans Saints)
Grubbs started for the Saints in their Week 2 game at Tampa Bay. He helped protect Drew Brees, who threw for 322 yards and a touchdown in the Saints’ 16-14 victory.
Josh Harris (LS, Atlanta Falcons)
Played in the Falcons' 31-24 victory over the St. Louis Rams. Snapped for one field goal and four extra points as well as six punts. He played in all 16 games last season as a rookie.
Will Herring (LB, New Orleans Saints)
Recorded one solo tackle for the Saints in their 16-14 victory over the Buccaneers. An Opelika native, Herring has 133 total tackles in his six-year career.
Brandon Jacobs (RB, New York Giants)
Signed on Tuesday and immediately made an impact rushing seven times for four yards, including a 1-yard touchdown in the third quarter in New York’s 41-23 loss to the Broncos. Jacobs rushed for more than 4,800 yards in seven seasons with the Giants from 2005-11.
Corey Lemonier (LB, San Francisco 49ers)
Recorded one tackle in the 49ers’ 29-3 loss to the Seahawks. Lemonier was drafted by the 49ers in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
Sen’Derrick Marks (DT, Jacksonville Jaguars)
Started for the Jaguars and recorded two solo tackles in their 19-9 loss to the Oakland Raiders. He has 104 tackles and three sacks in his five-year career.
Brandon Mosley (OG, New York Giants)
Did not play for the Giants in their home opener against the Denver Broncos. New York came up short Sunday falling 41-23 to the Broncos.
Cam Newton (QB, Carolina Panthers)
Newton was 21-of-38 for 229 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Panthers’ 24-23 defeat at Buffalo. Newton also rushed for 15 yards on four attempts. The 2011 No. 1 overall pick has passed for more than 8,000 yards in 34 career games.
Ben Obomanu (WR, New York Jets)
Obomanu re-signed with the Jets on Monday and saw snaps in the team’s 13-10 loss to New England on Thursday. He did not record any statistics. The eight-year veteran has 87 receptions and seven touchdowns in his career.
Jerraud Powers (CB, Arizona Cardinals)
Recorded one solo tackle as the Cardinals defeated Detroit, 25-21. Powers has totaled 215 tackles, 34 pass deflections and six interceptions in his five-year career.
Jay Ratliff (NT, Dallas Cowboys)
Remains on the Cowboys’ physically unable to perform (PUP) list with a hamstring injury and is not expected to return until week seven.
Carlos Rogers (CB, San Francisco 49ers)
Started at cornerback for the 49ers against Seattle and recorded one assisted tackle and one pass deflection. Seattle defeated the 49ers 29-3. A former All-Pro defender, Rogers has registered 15 interceptions in nine seasons since being drafted in the first round by the Redskins in 2005.
Pat Sims (DT, Oakland Raiders)
Recorded five tackles (four solo) in Oakland’s home opener against the Jaguars. The Raiders’ defense held Jacksonville to 37 rushing yards on the way to a 19-9 victory. Sims in in his first year with Oakland after five seasons with the Bengals.
Ben Tate (RB, Houston Texans)
Rushed for 93 yards on nine attempts with a long run of 60 yards in Houston’s overtime win over the Titans, 30-24. Tate also recorded three receptions for eight yards. He has 148 yards rushing and 15 yards receiving this season, his third with the Texans.
