AUBURN, Ala.  Auburn had a quiet week in the football polls. The Tigers didn't play over the weekend and stayed at No. 5 in both the coaches' and Associated Press polls released Sunday.
Don't worry. The action will heat up Thursday at Kansas State. That's when the Tigers play the No. 19/20 Wildcats in what promises to be one of many Top 25 games for Auburn this season. Both Auburn and Kansas State took Saturday off, and both will carry 2-0 records in the 6:30 p.m. game on ESPN. Kansas State is ranked No. 19 in the AP poll. The Wildcats are No. 20 by the coaches.
There are still seven teams ranked in the Top 25 on Auburn's schedule. In the coaches' poll, it's Alabama at No. 2, Texas A&M at No. 7, LSU at No. 8, Ole Miss at No. 12, Georgia at No. 14, South Carolina at No. 16 and No. 20 Kansas State.
Both polls are dominated by the SEC again. There are eight league teams ranked this week, including five from the SEC West ranked in the AP's Top 10. Three more SEC teams received votes in the coaches and AP polls.
