AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn will head to its first SEC game ranked No. 15 in the coaches poll and No. 18 in the Associated Press poll after a rankings shake-up following Saturday's 27-20 overtime win over Jacksonville State.
Auburn, 2-0, faces 1-0 LSU at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Baton Rouge. The Bengal Tigers held on to beat Mississippi State 21-19 Saturday night. LSU is ranked 14th by the coaches and 13th by the AP.
"It's all about LSU," said Auburn linebacker Kris Frost after Saturday's win.
Ten SEC teams were ranked in last week's AP poll. Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi State dropped out after weekend losses.
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said after his win the Tigers "didn't play well. It's easy to see that. We didn't play up to our standard and we have to figure out a way to do that. I will say this, we are 2-0 so our team morale is fine. We just need to play better."
Auburn was ranked No. 7 in last week's coaches poll and No. 6 in the AP poll.
