Auburn in the NFL - Preseason Week 4
Daren Bates (LB, St. Louis Rams)
Had two total tackles in the Rams’ 24-21 win against the Baltimore Ravens. Bates also made the Rams’ 53-man roster after joining the team as an undrafted free agent.
Rob Bironas (PK, Tennessee Titans)
Went 3-for-3 on field goals against the Minnesota Vikings with a long of 29 yards. Bironas also made two extra points and had four touchbacks in the game.
Emory Blake (WR, St. Louis Rams)
Added to St. Louis’ practice squad on September 1.
Ronnie Brown (RB, San Diego Chargers)
Saw minimal playing time in the fourth preseason game to protect him from injury, but did rush twice for seven yards. Brown has 5,171 rushing yards and 39 total touchdowns in his career.
Josh Bynes (LB, Baltimore Ravens)
Did not accumulate any statistics, but did play in the Ravens fourth preseason game against the St. Louis Rams. Bynes has 34 total tackles in his two season career.
Jason Campbell (QB, Cleveland Browns)
Did not play in the Brown’s final preseason game as he is expected to be the second quarterback on the depth chart behind Brandon Weeden. Campbell is entering his ninth season in the NFL and has 76 passing touchdowns.
Karlos Dansby (LB, Arizona Cardinals)
Had two solo tackles to help the Cardinals defeat the Denver Broncos 32-24 in the team’s final preseason game. Dansby has 709 tackles in his nine-season career.
King Dunlap (OT, San Diego Chargers)
Did not play in the Charger’s final preseason game as he is expected to be a starting tackle Week 1 against the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football.
Nick Fairley (DT, Detroit Lions)
Did not play in the Lion’s final preseason match-up against the Buffalo Bills. Fairley has 49 tackles and 6.5 sacks in his two seasons with the Lions.
Tyronne Green (OG, New England Patriots)
Placed on injured reserve in August during training camp. Green has played in 44 games in four seasons with the San Diego Chargers. He signed as a free agent with New England in July 2013.
Quentin Groves (LB, Cleveland Browns)
Had two solo tackles in the Browns’ 18-16 win over the Chicago Bears. After being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2008, the Browns are the fourth team Groves has played for in the NFL. He has 153 tackles in his career.
Ben Grubbs (OG, New Orleans Saints)
As an expected starter, Grubbs rested during the Saints’ fourth preseason game. Grubbs started all 16 games for the Saints in 2012.
Josh Harris (LS, Atlanta Falcons)
Played during the Falcons’ fourth preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Harris will remain the Falcons’ starting long snapper. He played in all 16 games last season.
Will Herring (LB, New Orleans Saints)
Played in the Saints’ game against the Miami Dolphins, but did not accumulate any statistics. Herring, originally from nearby Opelika, has recorded 131 tackles in his career.
Corey Lemonier (LB, San Francisco 49ers)
Recorded one solo tackle in the 49ers’ game 41-6 win over the San Diego Chargers. This is Lemonier’s first season in the league after being drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
Sen’Derrick Marks (DT, Jacksonville Jaguars)
In the Jaguars final preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons, Marks recorded two tackles (one solo). Marks has totaled six tackles and one sack in the Jaguars’ preseason this year.
Onterio McCalebb (DB, Cincinnati Bengals)
Added to Cincinnati’s practice squad on September 1.
Brandon Mosley (OG, New York Giants)
After missing the 2012 season due to injury, Mosley made the Giants’ final 53-man roster. He will serve as a backup guard and tackle on the offensive line after playing extensively in all four preseason games.
Cam Newton (QB, Carolina Panthers)
Newton was held out of the Panthers final preseason game. The top overall pick in 2011, Newton and the Panthers face the Seattle Seahawks to open the 2013 season. He tallied 4,610 total offensive yards and 27 touchdowns in 2012.
Jerraud Powers (CB, Arizona Cardinals)
Saw playing time, but did not record any statistics in final preseason game. The veteran defensive back had eight tackles, one interception and one pass deflection during the preseason for the Cardinals.
Jay Ratliff (NT, Dallas Cowboys)
On the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list after suffering a groin injury early in training camp. The four-time Pro Bowler appeared in six games in 2012 and missed the final six contests of last season due to the same injury.
Carlos Rogers (CB, San Francisco 49ers)
Saw limited snaps in San Francisco’s final preseason tune up. Rogers will retain his starting position this season at cornerback. He has 347 tackles and 15 interceptions in his nine-year career.
Pat Sims (DT, Oakland Raiders)
Did not play against the Seattle Seahawks this week as he is still recovering from an undisclosed injury. Sims did return to practice earlier in the week, but was held out of the game. Sims has 83 tackles and five sacks in six seasons in the league.
Ben Tate (RB, Houston Texans)
Did not play in the Texans’ final preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys. Tate is expected to remain the primary backup at running back. Tate has 1,221 yards rushing and six touchdowns in his two-year career.
